With the professional dancers taking part in this year's Strictly Come Dancing already announced, there has been much speculation as to who the celebrity dancers will be to pair with the professionals. Often those that do well already have a background in performing arts, perhaps having trained vocationally and in a career in music or on television. Each year's Strictly line up is always a much anticipated announcement, with the television show competition running from the Autumn until December.
It has been hinted that barrister and daytime TV phenomenon Judge Rinder may be the latest big name to be signed up for this year’s show, adding more to his already impressive CV. The Sun newspaper reported that BBC bosses were quick to recruit Britain’s version of Judge Judy, who is a regular on afternoon TV, with his gavel and judge’s wig. The legal expert is also famous for his icy put-downs, a contender for the bad cop position usually assumed by Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood. Revel Horwood has confirmed he will be returning to the judging panel for the 14th series; Judge Rinder would therefore have to be on the receiving end of his criticism!
Other names which have been rumoured to be joining the line up are TV presenter Angelica Bell, who has now been confirmed as already signed up for this year’s contest. Other names which may pop up include Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery and American pop singer Anastasia. 2016 looks set to host lots of glitter and sequins, as the show does year on year, with a variety of celebrities who will take to the floor. With each of them vying to lift the glitter ball trophy, the Strictly series is always one which will entertain.
