Perfecting make up

Many dancers, whether they have just started to perform or whether they have years of experience behind them, struggle sometimes when creating the perfect stage look with make up. Some end up with panda eyes and others look like they have had a scuffle with the self-tan machine: once you have practised and found the method which suits there will be no stopping you! Perfecting the art of stage makeup is a tricky business but is easy once you get the hang of it. It is imperative you use the right foundation for your skin tone and make sure it has a creamy base that leaves a smooth, matte finish. Dancewear Central stocks a great range of stage makeup to perfect the look you require whether it's a stage or theatrical performance. For your eyes you need a little skill and lots of steady hand! The lines you create must be precise and clear, making the eyes look more open. Go outside their boundaries using light and shadow to create theatrical effects, and use black eyeliner for the upper eyelid, going further than the outward edge on a slight upward diagonal. Then draw a line just below the lower lash, extending straight out beyond the edge. Some dancers choose to fill the space with black pencil, others choose white. When it comes to eye shadow, using more than one shade helps contour the eye, ideally by using two or three shadow colours. A pale colour highlights the brow bone, peachy shades on the lid and a dark (usually brown) shade accentuates the outer corner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmEVNIe1qlA Practice at home until you get the hang of it - voila!
