Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s stage musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is set to be adapted into an animated feature film, having already been turned into a video production and musical, having been created as a musical for schools. Elton John’s Rocket Pictures has acquired the film rights to the musical and will produce a film version, in association with Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Really Useful Group. Rocket Pictures chief executive Steve Hamilton Shaw and David Furnish will produce the film with The Really Useful Group, with Lloyd Webber, Rice and John becoming executive producers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtpzoGj-1V8 Developing Joseph as a new feature film marks the beginning of a new stage in The Really Useful Group’s plans to co-produce and fund new films, television and stage productions from its theatrical shows which play continuously worldwide. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat began as a schools' production, and was the first step on the path that led to Andrew Lloyd Webber's musicals with Tim Rice. It is now being performed all over the world by a fourth generation of school children. A successful film, as is anticipated will help the classic tale become part of the lives of many more. Originally created by Lloyd Webber and Rice for performance in schools, Joseph has been seen by an estimated 26 million people worldwide, earning more than $600m at the box office. As the most performed musical in history it's expected to be an instant hit with young and old! A release date for the feature film has yet to be announced.....
