Get The Look: Ballerina the Movie

We just love the animated ballet film Ballerina. Ever since its release back in December it's become a firm favourite in our collection! Not only does it tell the story of an aspiring ballet dancer going through an acclaimed ballet school (which many of our customers will be familiar with!), but it's also full of lots of laughter along the way. When we interviewed British ballerina Yasmine Naghadi, she said one of the most important things about being a professional dancer is to not take yourself too seriously, to have fun with it and that’s definitely what we do when we're watching Ballerina! We are enthralled by the fabulous outfits worn by the main characters and we think there are lots of little ballerinas up and down the country who want to look just like Félicie and other characters from the movie. So we have put together a list of Félicie's and Camille's outfits, and links to where you can get them right here in the Dancewear Central store.

Félicie

As the main character of the film, we’re all rooting for Félicie! Coming from a poor background, she can’t afford regular dance classes as a young child, so when she comes to the ballet school, she’s way behind everyone else. However, with her sheer passion and determination, we think she’s got what it takes to be a shining ballet star. Get the Félicie look: We've pulled together a stunning white skirted leotard, complete with blue belt and white tights. Not forgetting your flesh ballet shoes and gorgeous hair accessories.

Camille

Pushed into competing by her ruthless and pushy mother, we’re left wondering whether Camille’s ‘passion’ for dancing is for herself or her mother. She’s also pretty nasty to Félicie. Regardless, we’re firm believers that ballerinas should support each other through rehearsals and performances. Get the Camille look: A sleek black leotard / unitard complete with pink headband, a pair of classic white tights finished off with flesh colour ballet shoes. Or you can try her stunning green leotard with a lovely pink belt. Complete her look with white leggings and these sparkly gold ballet shoes.

The Mystery Ballerina

Who is this beautiful ballerina? We're not going to spoil it for those who haven't watched it yet! But we can say that she inspires Félicie enough to audition for one of the most renowned dance schools in all of France, so she must have lots of experience. We fell in love with her white tutu, and you can get the look right here.
