American Repertory Ballet

American Repertory Ballet has announced its September events and performances due to take place, such as a “Meet the Company” event. The company will begin its 2014-2015 season in New Jersey with its first production of the season, Fall Kick-Off Performance. Through guest speakers, lecture demonstrations, performance previews, and panel discussions, American Repertory Ballet’s On Pointe series gives the public an inside look at the world of dance and ARB’s unique work. All On Pointe events are free and open to the public and are held at Princeton Ballet School – Artistic Director Douglas Martin will speak about the company’s upcoming work, and the dancers will perform excerpts of select repertory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_yDUvSs_zw The Fall Kick-Off Performance will feature a variety of movement styles, narrative voices and musical genres. The programme features ballets choreographed by former dancers of the acclaimed Joffrey Ballet: Philip Jerry, ARB Resident Choreographer Mary Barton, and Trinette Singleton. On Pointe events, like ‘Meet the Company,’ give the company the opportunity to engage closely with the community, and the chance to interact with the student community while presenting a powerful and diverse programme for the public.
